Xbox Series 'S' 'Lockhart' appears in latest Xbox SDK documents
The Xbox Series "S" known past its codename of "Lockhart" has appeared one time once again, this fourth dimension in the June 2022 release notes for the Microsoft Game Development Kit.
Security researcher on Twitter known by TitleOS has offered a glimpse at the relevant sections, which refer to Lockhart'southward "Profiling mode," alongside an AnacondaProfiling manner, which refers to the more powerful Xbox Series Ten. The profiles likely refer to graphics tiers developers can target for the unlike spec levels. Lockhart is expected to exist around 4TF, targeting 1080p, with Anaconda (the Xbox Series X) hit 12TF. Nosotros have verified the authenticity of the screenshots below.
Very niggling is known about Lockhart, simply it's expected to be a slimmed-down, less-powerful all-digital next-gen Xbox, sporting additional CPU and SSD capabilities over the Xbox One Ten, while too being less powerful in the graphics department. It's expected to be the cheapest next-gen entry level selection, giving users the ability to spring ahead with the new features afforded past NVME SSD storage speeds, while as well hitting a more affordable price point.
The info from TitleOS is only lends further credence to the fact that this affair truly does be, at least right now. Microsoft has cancelled products at the final minute in the past, but from conversations with our sources, I know that some developers are already targeting the Lockhart contour with their games.
When will we see Lockhart revealed? At this point information technology's anyone'south guess, but I expect we won't meet Lockhart until Microsoft is set up to talk price. You don't announce a "less powerful" Xbox Scarlett console without being able to talk about its unique selling betoken. We'll just have to wait and see.
New build!
New Windows eleven preview build brings improved taskbar for bear on users
It's fourth dimension for another Windows 11 preview build, and this week is another big one. Today'south build is 22563 and features even more taskbar improvements, this time for tablet users. Microsoft is introducing a new auto-hide Taskbar interface that's similar to the affect-start taskbar that was first introduced on Windows 10X and the Surface Neo.
